I’ve been reading your memoir this morning, trying to catch up from where I left off. I do so like it. One never thinks about starting over again once they hit a certain age. What will life look like? We have a few friends that have become widowed, (I know it’s not the same), and the starting over again is hard at any age. But starting over again after divorcing is going to be hard, especially if the other half remarries. Oh, so many things, and you tackle them effortlessly.

So, on the mark, Ben, and so glad to have you back reading as I write and live this--and with such a smart comment and so generous about the writing.

Nietzsche is right --not so sure about Harry in _When Harry Met Sally_ --but then that is the arc of the rom-com, right? Anyway, we agree.

"It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages."

How true. All the elements of friendship, I think ,should make the basis of marriage.

Open heart is you sharing, Mary, through beautiful writing and the universal themes of love and friendship.
