I just love that one. It's like witnessing the messiness of life through someone else's eyes. It happens at a certain age...oh, that would be about now, wouldn't it? Yep, no doubt about that.

What do I think of this?! I’m blown away by your writing, Mary…your wizard-like ability to spin a web between your life (and the hard feelings to navigate) and so many other relevant but disparate elements. You make my head spin, my heart squeeze, and my stomach cry greedy for more.

"Double doors do not mean the ball the princess will attend with her prince. My sister or my mother or my father on a gurney went through double doors, pushed by attendants wearing colored caps and returned more broken than before." So powerful, so sad. As I've mentioned before, I love your use of fairy tales. Never more so than here

Powerful. Double doors are scary. I went through a similar experience before my mother’s surgery. It did not turn out well.

Always a pleasure to read you, Mary. Love this for the connections you make and the images you add. Writing that stays with me long after I've read it. Thinking of you xo

The fact that this life-tale of woe, in the writing of it, stays with you means much, Isabelle.
