What a great list of flicks well worth watching or rewatching! I must say that I will continue to watch and admire the work of Woody Allen. If we were to censor thinkers and artists for their personal lives and actions -- often and most especially bigotry, racism and anti-semitism -- the list would be long and, perhaps to many, surprising: Wagner, Elliot, Heidegger and on and on. I know others may disagree, but -- while we must condemn immorality -- we do ourselves a disservice if we also ignore works of brilliance.

Great examples. Would we not read the _Four Quartets_ because of what we know about Eliot's personal prejudices? Would we not listen to Wagner's masterworks? Did you know that Shakespeare's brilliant _Merchant of Venice_ is now not taught in many universities because of the portrayal of Shylock? Genius comes with human flaws. Art survives even those.

Yes, and said much more eloquently!

You are quite eloquent on your own about this difficult issue that requires us to struggle with questions of flawed behavior by artists who exceed all expectations in their work.
