Your writing is such that you can see the garden so cinematically--frame by frame--and then you take that bucolic scene and weave in the tension between the two women--it's masterful! xo

I can't stop saying this: What a reader you are. If only you were a film maker 💞who found this. Thank you, lovely Alisa!

Such vivid writing! My mind enjoys the imagery your words conjure as much as it enjoys how you string your words together. Splendid!

“I was zealous for pleasure without pause.” I love how you contrast this with the Scrolls; Lena’s dual pursuits both in conflict with one another. She’s such a layered character and the tension just keeps building. And then this odd excavation at the center of Lena and Isaac’s coming together, as if life events are mirroring inter-personal events, both in need of air, breath, uncovering. Remarkable writing friend.

“Coals of broom and woe is me.” I love the way the broom hovers around the chapter in different ways. Wonderful stuff!

Bain, So glad. Great read--I'd never even thought about the punctuation. Funny how even that seemingly small aspect can make a difference. I look forward to further connection ... xx
