Roberts tenderness of making Lena food, the first meal he has ever prepared for her - the irony … oh Mary, my heart breaks open again and again in this story which feels like almost part of my own life now… ❣️xx

I am so moved, Susie, that you read with such tenderness. When any writer hears that her words have touched the reader in personal way, the sense of universality of the writing gives this author hope.

So poignant... The small, nascent love languages that emerge when the time between a couple is quickly running out. The tenderness between them is so genuine.

The loving and desperate act of preparing her that meal, his first ever, maybe the last. So sad.

Robert’s gesture—so simple yet truly generous with longing. Everyone seems to want to make reparations. Death has a way….

Heartbreaking in so many ways... that no one ever cooked for Lena after her mother passed, and that Robert is finally trying to cook for her at a time she can barely stomach food. The tension of too little, too late is perfectly and painfully executed in your writing.

Ah, lovely, yes, as the novel moves towards its closing chapters of discovery and confrontation and forgiveness.

All good things must come to an end... I will be sorry when the last chapter is finally published but am greatly anticipating the ending! ❤️
